How SwitchPitch collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
What is Personal Data?
Personal Data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person — someone who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as a name, email address, IP address, or online identifier. This is true regardless of the source of the information (including third-party providers) and regardless of whether the information is also available publicly.
What types of Personal Data do We Collect?
Website data. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about you or your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
Cookies — data files placed on your device that often include an anonymous unique identifier.
Log files — track actions on the Site, collecting IP address, browser type, ISP, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
Web beacons, tags, and pixels — electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
When you fill out a form on the Site, we collect your name, address, email address, and phone number ("Profile Information"), with your explicit consent. Some forms (such as demo requests) are hosted using HubSpot's form technology, which transmits your Profile Information directly to HubSpot on our behalf.
Platform data. If you use the SwitchPitch platform (the "Platform"), we also process:
Account data — your name, work email, company, and role.
User-generated content — tracker names and descriptions, notes, reviews, interaction records, and custom field values you or your organization create in the Platform.
Contact records — information about individuals at companies in our database, sourced from third-party data providers (see "Third-Party Data Enrichment" below).
Usage and activity logs — records of how accounts and users interact with the Platform.
Do we Use Cookies?
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as those set by Google Analytics, HubSpot, and RB2B) when you visit our Site to compile aggregate data about Site traffic and interaction, to recognize returning visitors, and to support marketing and lead follow-up.
If you are located in the EU, UK, or EEA, Google Analytics and HubSpot cookies are only set after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner, and RB2B is not used at all. If you are located outside the EU, UK, and EEA, Google Analytics and HubSpot cookies are set automatically as part of our legitimate interest in understanding Site usage, and RB2B is used to identify visiting companies only after you click "Accept." If you click "Reject," we do not load RB2B, and — for EU, UK, and EEA visitors — we do not load Google Analytics or HubSpot either. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this Site and revisiting the banner.
How do We Use Personal Data?
We use all collected data to maintain accurate accounts, provide and improve services, provide accurate billing, answer inquiries, market services and products, and make our website and Platform useful to you.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process Personal Data:
Contract performance — for account data and Platform data, to provide the services you or your organization have signed up for.
Legitimate interest — for enrichment data, analytics, and product improvement, balanced against your rights and interests as described below.
Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.
When and How do We Share Your Personal Data with Third Parties?
In most cases, we will not sell or trade your Personal Data to third parties. We share information with trusted subcontractors and service providers who assist in operating our Site and Platform, each acting under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.
We use the following third-party services:
Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/us/privacy)
Google Analytics — site usage (google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy)
HubSpot — site analytics, marketing cookies, and processing of demo-request form submissions (legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy)
Pendo — site analytics and product analytics (pendo.io/legal/privacy-policy)
RB2B — website visitor identification. RB2B is restricted to visitors outside the EU, UK, and EEA; it is not used to identify visitors from those regions. (rb2b.com/privacy-policy)
AWS — cloud infrastructure and data storage; our primary hosting provider (aws.amazon.com/privacy)
Anthropic — AI inference for Platform features. Data sent per-request is not used to train Anthropic's models. (anthropic.com/legal/privacy)
OpenAI — AI inference for Platform features. Data sent per-request is not used to train OpenAI's models. (openai.com/policies/privacy-policy)
Google — AI inference for Platform features. Data sent per-request is not used to train Google's models. (policies.google.com/privacy)
Perplexity — AI inference and data enrichment for Platform features (perplexity.ai/hub/legal/privacy-policy)
Elastic — hybrid search indexing of company profile data (elastic.co/legal/privacy-statement)
Crunchbase — company-level data enrichment (crunchbase.com/privacy-policy)
Diffbot — company-level data enrichment and website crawling (diffbot.com/privacy-policy)
Rocketreach — contact data enrichment; may include personal data about individuals sourced from third parties (see "Third-Party Data Enrichment" below) (rocketreach.co/privacy-policy)
Third-Party Data Enrichment
SwitchPitch maintains a database of companies and, in connection with that database, holds contact information about individuals at those companies (such as name, title, and work email) sourced from third-party data providers including Rocketreach and Diffbot. In many cases, these individuals have no direct relationship with SwitchPitch and have not interacted with our Site or Platform.
We process this data on the basis of legitimate interest — enabling our enterprise and ecosystem customers to identify and evaluate relevant companies and points of contact for partnership purposes — weighed against the interests and rights of the individuals concerned. We limit this data to business contact information reasonably necessary for that purpose, and we do not use it for unrelated purposes such as direct-to-consumer marketing.
If you are an individual whose contact information we hold as a result of third-party enrichment and you would like to access, correct, or request deletion of that data, contact us at info@switchpitch.com.
Where We Process and Store Data
Personal Data is processed and stored in the United States. Where we transfer Personal Data from the EU, UK, or Switzerland to the United States, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (or an equivalent recognized transfer mechanism) with the relevant service providers to protect that data.
How do we Protect Your Information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your information when you enter, submit, or access your information.
How Long do we Retain Your Information?
We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, based on the following general periods:
Account data — for the duration of your organization's active relationship with SwitchPitch, plus up to 90 days after account closure for administrative wind-down.
Usage and activity logs — up to 24 months from the date of activity.
Enrichment records (contact data sourced from third parties) — until the record is confirmed stale or a deletion request is honored, reviewed at least annually.
Data following account deletion — deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Your Consent
Where we rely on your consent — for example, for marketing communications or non-essential cookies — you may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to: info@switchpitch.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
GDPR Compliance & Your Rights
We have made our best effort to comply with the EU GDPR. If you are located in the European Union, UK, or EEA, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
